Round 18 29/8/2010

Last game at home the boys played very well for the first half and held the far stronger and quicker Keilor to 1-2. The flood gates opened with poor play and lazy football, although the boys have improved out of sight this year once the goals go in the heads drop, great season for new players.

Round 17 22/8/2010

Playing away the boys battled but size and pace opened up the defence for many chances that were not taken. 0-3 at half time. 2nd half showed some improvement and many chanes for both sides final score 1-4 loss.

Round 16 15/8/2010

Two in a row, good to watch a game that both teams were fairly even and football played with the usual mistakes from first year players. What was good to see was passing and attacking options creating many chances, well done to the boys great effort. 5-2 win.

Round 15 8/8/2010

Raining chances for Werribee the boys battled on and did get reward for efforts, score we won 2-1 but we were just lucky Werribee had a real bad day. Winners are grinners.

Round 14 1/8/2010

Playing against the top of the table the boys were over run at times and physical size left us chasing the ball, our passing was good but we left many passes short that ended up being goals at the other end. We are just not tough enough and the learning is to large sometimes. 0-10 loss.

Round 13 25/7/2010

2 sides near the bottom tried hard by consistant poor passing and weak challenges found the boys falling behind early. To battle on many changes made the equaliser was found only to go behind again with non existent defending half time 2-1 down. Tough talk stirred the boys into a better 2nd half with some good passing and an increase in pressure it was now 2-2 after an excellent shot. Toughing it out clearing the lines, survival and just luck found the boys getting a chance a great pass found the winner 2-3 away result, we will not talk about the missed penalty that should have rapped the game up.

Round 12 18/7/2010

Run over and not really a team although scoring first yes first to find the net then the old habits arrived, poor passing not winning tackles and 2nd to the ball 1/2 time 1-3. Then the flood gates opened we were not able to stop the attacks from a far better side, disheartened and chasing the ball the score blew out to 2-12 yes we scored again but at the end well beaten.

Round 11 11/7/2010

Playing at home a shaky start found the boys again conceding early goals, not switched on and now we chase the game 1/2 time 0-2, a strong start and the boys finding their passing and with constant pressure chances being created we were awarded a very dodgy penalty. Now 1-2 well on top and definitely the better team the score now 2-2. many golden opportunities missing and a breakaway goal conceded final score 2-3 unlucky loss.

Round 10 27/6/2010

Playing away at Sydenham the boys did not get into the game early and found size, pace and want being the difference between the 2 sides. 2 early goals from poor defensive efforts found we had to chase the game. 1/2 time 2-0. What a different game in the second half, we became the attacking side made many chances to get back into the game but could'nt find a finish, losing 4-1 hurts when we made many chances which would have applied the pressure from the score board. Poor start cost us a real result.

Round 9 20/6/2010

The team work is coming the passing is now seen and the fact we can get to the other end and score against far better sides is the bonus, we eventually fall on our sword once the score balloons out but there is real signs of inprovement. Keilor 10-1 loss.

Round 8 6/6/2010

Probably the poorest start we have had this season, very little run no teamwork has seen the team fall behind very early with multiple goals in first few minutes half time 0-8. Asked players to start afresh in 2nd half, find your passing challenge for the ball and an improved game was found. Tough to really impose when so far behind we will just have to work harder at training and find some positive football again.  Final score 1-11.

Round 7 29/5/2010

Winners are grinners? well not exactually a performance that the coach could not cheer, with the first half of the game the boys outplayed there oppositon Northern Lions leading at the break 0-3 away from home, well done until the interval. Now for the frustration players stopped the team work it was all about each other and i want to score which left the back line in a mess players out of position and the opposition scoring we were now in a battle to see lazy passing, poor team work meant this game finished with us all holding our breath. Final score 4-5 yes they boys had their first win which was great but no celebration today. I must say well done to the pocket rocket Wai Ney 2 very important goals and nearly many more.

Round 6 23/5/10

Playing at home against Werribee City bees we found ourselves up against a neat side that was prepared to challenge our boys and were able to control the game. Our boys showed some very good passing passages of good football but we lacked the final pass or the ball control which saw us give the ball away to many times. With many new players just starting out and the language barrier to learn we were beaten 0-7. The boys must be prepared to tough it out a not give the ball away. Still improving.

Round 5 16/5/2010

New players playing their first ever game took on the might of Green Gully 16 zip last time this time 6-1 well what has changed the boys are now giving it it's all, pressuring, chasing and enjoying the game. Well done to Michael in goals who is learning as well as excelling, very good effort well done boys. As coach i have to learn 3 new languages sign or something hand signals just don't work. Great effort.

Round 4 9/5/2010

Playing at home on a very good day for football, although the boys had to rely on a few boys from the U14's due to some being missing in action we witnessed a very good even game between 2 teams of similar ability. Unfortunately the boys conceded the only goal of the game during the first half and were unlucky not to have squared off the score but we actually had many chances that they did not convert, taking control of the whole 2nd half many great saves by the opposition keeper kept the hoppers boys out. Thanks to Ryan, James & Gavin well done boys improvements seen every week.Smile

Round 3 02/05/2010

The U15 boys played at league leaders Brimbank Zebras, the boys battled hard in the first half although always chasing the ball rather than controlling it, the boys were out paced and found the going tough conceding 8 1st half goals many from silly mistakes.
Second half found the boys getting involved and actually we had more of the ball and created a few chances, although we lost 12 - 0 the second half was competitive, well done to Michael in goals who was our best player, not just for the goals saved but he never gave them easy opportunities. Keep battling.

Round 2 25/04/2010

The game left a lot to be desired, the boys were flat finding it hard to get started, while the engine just puffed Altona City attacked at every opportunity, we conceded simple goals with players watching and not competing. Highlight of the match and best goal of the day was from Nick, new to the squad he cannot speak a word of english, but his ball skills shone he passed 4 players into the box to finish off in the top corner. Final score 8-1. We will have to try harder.

Round 1 18/04/2010

As coach all i can say is thank you to the boys for the game their efforts from a bunch of new boys only 2 games under their belt the improvement was excellent, the game fair the score of 1-1 was great and it took a cracker of a goal from Sydenham to equalise 5 minutes from time. All the best to young Billy Rainbow who has suffered a broken arm whilst battling for the ball yesterday.

Well done boys
