Round 8 20/06/2010 The Joeys Lime 1 put on a brave display of football this week @ Green Gully, the score line didn’t reflect their efforts. Although the lads were in defence mode for most of the game, they created some attacking plays throughout the contest. Round 7 30/05/2010 The Joey's Lime battled strong winds and were able to hold Melton to 2 goals at halftime, despite them being much bigger and stronger. Ryan displayed great courage playing in goals and had a great all round game. After the break Billy scored the Joey's first goal, with Oliver and Luka bringing the game closer. Jake created many chances for his teammates, with Ethan on song in the middle of the park. Zac was not intimidated by the larger opposition and was dominant through the centre. However, after putting on a brave display, the boys went down 4-3. Joey's Blue were away this week playing against St Albans SC. St Albans SC scored the first goal within the first ten minutes putting pressure on Hoppers Crossing 2. The boys defence regrouped with Jaden, Bill and Peter holding St Albans SC back from advancing and Abhinav stopping anything that came near the goals. The second half saw Hoppers Crossing 2 team work as team, with the midfield Brandon, Shuaib and Vishal working hard to take the ball up to give Vishal his first chance to score a goal and he scored to equalise with St Albans SC. After scoring the goal the whole team lifted with more attempts made to score a second goal.
Finally the chance came with Jose crossing the ball from the corner to pass to Rohan who scored.

In cold conditions the Joeys jumped out full of running & once the team adjusted to the slippery field it was game on. Luke & Ethan consistently repelled opposition attacks forward with Goalie Nick holding steady in front of the net. Billy’s strike into the net before halftime put the Joeys into a good position. After two weeks away the HCSC Joey’s Lime played Cairnlea FC on our home turf this Sunday. The opposition looked a polished outfit with blasting strikes into their forward line early. Our reliable backline players Ethan, Ryan & Jake teamed up brilliantly to deliver the ball wide to the running Luke, who scored an absolute memorable first goal of the match. Both sides were even throughout the tussle until striker Luka weaved his way around the goal line to score the Joeys Lime 2nd goal of the match. Throughout the game Zac, Oliver, Billy & Luke worked hard & created many opportunities through the midfield for other team mates, until Billy was substituted for disciplinary reasons late in the game. The scores were close right up until the final whistle.

The second goal was scored by Billy just before the main break. In the second half, Oliver seized an opportunity to score the Joey’s third goal thanks to the support of all the other players. Well done Joey’s. Round 2 25/04/2010

Our two goals of the game were scored in the first half by Billy & Luka; the two strikers were strongly supported by our tenacious backline players Ryan, Jake, Luke & Ethan.
After halftime, Green Gully came out with all guns firing attacking the net on many occasions. Our Goal Keeper Nick put on a courageous display of defence in front of the net, saving many strikes from the opposition. Like true Anzac soldiers, the Joey’s Lime put on brave display of football and didn’t give up until the final whistle. Round 1 18/04/2010
All the kids was slightly nervous prior to the game (they all knew about the big Werribee win against our Joey's) but once Peter started the game it was all good.
Isaac alias Ronaldo alias "Hungry Jacks" scored the opening goal for Hoppers Crossing.
Both Werribee and Hoppers Crossing had a few chances but due to a disciplined Hoppers defense (Cooper, Duncan, Daniel) and Chris in goals we made it to half time.
After the oranges at half time Werribee scored the equalizer 1 - 1.
Hoppers had a some good opportunities with Jordan P, Isaac and Frank but it wasn't until the last 5 min. that Jordan B scored the winning goal 2-1.
All well done!
Quote of the week:
Ok, to start off…there is only one ball. And you need to have that ball. But the big question is: what do you do with it?
