🔴 SENIORSA difficult afternoon at Sumner Park as Brunswick Zebras claimed a 6–0 win. Hoppers started positively with early chances and confident saves from Josh Todaro, but once the hosts broke through, momentum shifted quickly. A tough half hour saw four goals conceded before the break, leaving a steep climb in the second half.Hoppers pushed after the restart — Ivan Silic forcing a strong save and fresh legs coming on — but Zebras remained clinical, adding two more late to close out a day to forget. Chapter 3 of our HCSC Volunteer Spotlight focuses on the people who quietly keep matchday moving — the volunteers who step in wherever they’re needed so our Miniroo and Junior players can enjoy their football, our coaches can focus on their teams, and our supporters can relax and enjoy the day.On Sundays, when the pitches are full and games are happening back‑to‑back, these volunteers make sure everything flows. Some take on refereeing duties when an appointed referee isn’t available, ensuring games can go ahead safely and fairly. Others support their children’s teams by running the line, helping the game stay organised and connected. 🔴 SENIORSSunbury United left Grange Reserve with a deserved 3–0 win after an afternoon where Hoppers struggled to build momentum. An early free‑kick lapse and a sharp cross saw the visitors go two goals up inside twenty minutes.Hoppers had a chance to respond when a penalty was awarded on the half hour, but Aruna Mwinyi’s strike was superbly saved by Sunbury’s goalkeeper, denying a crucial lifeline. The visitors continued to threaten, hitting the post and bar before the break.Despite second‑half changes and Sunbury going down to ten men, Hoppers couldn’t find a breakthrough. A composed finish in the 80th minute sealed the result. Harry Kilpatrick struck the post late, and Sunbury finished with nine men, but the points were already gone.Hoppers regroup and go again next round.---🟡 RESERVESOur Reserves continued their strong form with a well‑earned 2–1 victory earlier in the day.
