Tight, tense affair ends in away defeat! Our trip to Sunbury saw our Seniors on the end of a 1-0 loss, thanks to a first half penalty clumsily conceded early on. Aside from this chance, the first half was mostly fought in midfield and despite the Hoppers Crossing supremacy in this part of the ground, we could not capitalise in the final third. With the game on the line, the second half saw our lads apply sustained pressure continuing their dominance in midfield and creating many opportunities to level the game. However, between a couple of good saves from the Sunbury keeper and some wayward shooting in front of goal, we fell short of grabbing an all important away point. The Reserves fell to a 5-0 defeat. This Saturday at 5pm Seniors kickoff (3pm Reserves), we return to Grange Reserve to host Plenty Valley Lions FC in Round 8 of the State League 3 NW. We look to continue our home form that has served as a good platform for contending at the summit of the league. ... See MoreSee Less

Grange Reserve fortress! Our Seniors were up for the important battle against a fellow top side, running out 2-0 winners in a measured display in both attack and defence. The blustery conditions wreaked havoc throughout proceedings, playing a part in the own goal that opened the scoring for the home side from a set piece. The rest of the first half either side of the goal saw Hoppers Crossing navigating the conditions better, but they were unable to add to their advantage heading into half time despite having the better of the chances. The second half saw Balmoral looking to turn things around initially, however our lads proved too organised and strong defensively, maintaining the clean sheet for a second consecutive game. Our substitutions added energy and endeavour on the press and counter attack, with Adam Rizki cashing in to tuck away the second goal and secure 3 points for the third week in a row.The Reserves were unable to capitalise on their many opportunities, losing 1-0.Our next game takes us away to Sunbury for a 3pm kickoff (Reserves 1pm). Another 3 points are on offer to add to the promising start to the year, as the State League 3 NW table starts to take shape. ... See MoreSee Less
