A home loss despite periods of dominance which lacked polish in front of goal! Our Reds dropped points at home for the first time this season in a tight and physical encounter. The majority of the first half was spent with both sides attempting to gain ascendancy in the midfield. Clean opportunities for goal few and far between for both sides bar a couple of half chances for Hoppers Crossing, with the half ending 0-0.The second half continued much the same way before a free kick was awarded to Dallas just outside the box midway through the half. This was taken with great aplomb putting the visitors ahead and give them the momentum in the immediate aftermath. Our boys fought hard to wrestle this back and push for an equaliser but ultimately fell short. The Reserves lost 3-2 with their good football not translating to deserved results. Josh Verghese bagging a brace thanks to two pieces of attentive pressing. The next weekend, the league pauses for a bye over the long weekend before we head away to Partingtons Flat to play Diamond Valley United SC in the final game of the first sequence of fixtures. ... A professional away display to claim 3 points, scoring 3 goals and keeping another clean sheet! Our Seniors took control of proceedings right from the first whistle away from home, as Ivan Silic calmly dispatched a penalty following a clumsy challenge by the Heidelberg keeper on Kimihiro Hirata. From there, the Reds balanced their continued goal threat with stability in defence throughout the first half. Just before the break, Emeka Ekwo doubled the advantage with a superb free kick.Coming out of half time, we continued to show more energy than the home side, with a positive desire to score and deepen the advantage. It was just reward when Kosta Paganis nodded home our third goal midway through the half to make the points safe. The Reserves were involved in a rollercoaster 3-3 draw, which saw the home side score an equaliser in the dying seconds to deny us 3 points. Chol Dongrin with an exquisite first time half volley for our first. Hasan Ali kept a level head to round the keeper and make it 2-1. Finally, a Lachlan Elmore header after his perfectly timed run into the box put us ahead late on, but ultimately it was not enough to earn wins in both games on the day. Next up, we return home to Grange Reserve welcoming 3rd placed Dallas City for a 5pm kickoff for the Seniors (3pm Reserves). With the top 7 separated by only 3 points coming up to the midway point of the season, maintaining our perfect record at home will be crucial to separate us from the pack. ... See MoreSee Less

Stellar home form continues for the Reds! Our Seniors maintained their perfect record at home with a 2-0 win against Plenty Valley Lions FC, moving into third place in the classification. The first half saw Hoppers on the front foot right from kickoff, nabbing an early goal through Aruna Mwinyi's smart finish from a set piece. Throughout the remainder of the half, the lads kept their foot down creating many opportunities, but our opposition did well under pressure to see out the half only a goal behind. After the break, we continued right where we left off, linking up well across the lines to produce a constant threat in attack, while maintaining defensive solidity at the back. As Plenty Valley pushed numbers forward late for an equaliser, Liam Zacharias was at the ready to poach our second goal and secure all 3 points. The Reserves fell 3-2. Adirek Yawang slamming home a tidy finish and Josh Verghese slotting home from close range at the front post.Round 9 of State League 3 NW action has us travelling to James Reserve for a 3.15pm kickoff (Reserves 12.45pm) against Heidelberg Eagles.
